Testimonials:

Winemakers' Series: Otago– Mt Difficulty 11th May 2012

“I was a very contented guest at the previous AUT Winemaker's Series. The food and wine were superb, and I was delighted to be led by the winemaker himself through the story of each wine and why it was paired with the meal in front of me. A highlight of the night was the wait service, which was executed as gracefully as a ballet performance”.

Chateau St Michelle Wine Writers Dinner : 8th February 2012

‘We were exceptionally pleased with the organisation and service from The Four Seasons Restaurant for our winemaker dinner and tasting. The tasting in the ante room was slickly organised, the dinner was superbly presented, food and wine matches exceptional and the service high quality. Thank you to David and his team’.

Australasian Business Ethics Network (ABEN): 2nd December2011

The Australasian Business Ethics Network (ABEN) held its inaugural conference at AUT on December 2nd and 3rd 2011, and the Four Seasons restaurant was booked for the official dinner. It was important for us to support hospitality students, but we also wanted to provide food that not only tasted good, but also was to a high ethical standard. I discussed the possibility to use only organic products and, where possible, fair-trade ingredients. Andrea Lithgow liaised with the chef to tailor a menu (with a vegetarian option) that suited our requests, for a reasonable price. The end result was, a deliciously surprising menu which exceeded our expectations. David Green matched interesting organic wines to each plate and some guests thought this was like a degustation menu. The size of each portion was just perfect and the 30 dinner guests gave many compliments.

Matavino Wines NZ:  17th November 2011

I wanted to create a memorable experience to launch my brand and wines as part of the Matavino journey, and in particular to keep in line with my theme of "good food, good wine, good company".

David Green enthusiastically met with me and after a tasting of my 4 wines, came up with a great menu for my winemakers dinner that showed a genuine understanding of each wine. The red Italian grape varieties (Nebbiolo & Barbera) in particular needed food to enhance their strong tannic & acid backbone, as is the custom in their native Peidmonte.  There were over 60 guests on the night, and I've had nothing but praise from them on the venue, the food and its match to the wine, the attentiveness of the staff(students), the occasion, and of course the wines themselves!  They have urged me to do it all again next year.

I have no hesitation to recommend this as a top venue - The AUT School of Hospitality & Tourism are very professional and skilled at providing a memorable experience for any occasion.

Brown Brothers Wines NZ - 1st November 2011

Brown Brothers Wines NZ recently held a PR function for some select journalists and publishers to highlight their innovation and diversity in a very competitive industry.  The concept of a pacific themed menu was pitched to David Green (AUT's Restaurant Operations Manager) as an appealing way of showcasing some of the new fruity wines available in our portfolio.  David and his team at AUT  School of Hospitality and Tourism completely understood the brief and executed the event perfectly with many of the guests commenting on how well the food was matched to such interesting and unique wines. The staff were courteous and professional and I would have no hesitation in recommending AUT Four  Sesasons restaurant for special events and functions in the future.
